The Wits Business School PhD is a traditional research-based doctoral programme conducted primarily on campus in Parktown, Johannesburg. It is the largest PhD programme in South Africa and one of the most highly regarded on the continent. The programme is centred on independent research under supervisor guidance, supplemented by a mandatory Methodology and Proposal Writing Seminar Series in Year 1 and an annual research workshop. There is no traditional coursework component beyond the seminar series.
